This time of the year is a wonderful, joyous time. It is a time when families get together and fellowship and may actually be together for the first time all year. During this time at Christmas, the traditions are rich and often revolve around exchanging gifts with each other. While this is not the most important part of the season, it is definitely a big part of the Christmas, holiday season.

Some of the main complaints that I have in my family is ideas for what to get family members. Each person has changed so much since I last bought them anything that I just have the most difficult time deciding on a gift. So, I almost always end up getting gift cards for my family members and friends, just because I do not know what to buy them.

Gift cards are the universal gifts that can "give" at any time during the year. I really enjoy getting gift cards because then I can go and buy exactly what I want. With that being said, a friend of mine once said, "It's what I want you to have... Not what you want to have..." Well, I disagree with that philosophy... It should definitely be what the receiver is wanting and not what the giver is wanting them to have.

Gift cards can be purchased anywhere and for just about any amounts. From restaurants like Ruby Tuesday, Red Lobster, and McDonalds to stores like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy to even online stores like Amazon at http://www.amazon.com. Git cards are great for those hard to buy for people. My concept is, "When in doubt, Gift card it out."
