Quick Hit Hubs - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Before I delve into this, I just want to let everyone know that this is not a review for the specifications of the game or the system... This is just a review of the game itself, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I am not real sure about the storyline behind this game but I remember being told that it has to do with the Russians attempting to dominate the world, a little far-fetched if you ask me but anyway... It's just a storyline. The game deals with modernized combat and at times gets futuristic. The weapons are all weapons that today's modern military uses from the M4 to the M16 to the M21 and even Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifles. There are AK-47s, Desert Eagles, and H&K USP .45s. The selection of weapons is amazing and in multiplayer, you can customize so much within your character, with the exception of the way he looks. The best part of this game is without a doubt, the multiplayer portion. You are able to start a character from scratch and build him up, gaining prestige and ranking up. I am currently ranked a 1 Star (Brigadier) General. It's really fun playing the game here in Iraq because it takes your mind off of the monotonous day to day crap that we often deal with. I know, some will say that we are a bit crazy for wanting to play war games in the middle of a warzone... However, I can assure you that Iraq is not as bad as you may think. Anyway, the game offers many different options from 1 player story mode to 2 player Co-Op missions to multiplayer online and 4 player split-screen multiplayer options. The game is available for the Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Wii.

This game is extremely fun and makes time go by extemely fast. We play every day for about 2-3 hours with just the 4 play split-screen mode and time flies by. I am really enjoying this game but it is not a game that I would let my kids play until they get about 14 years old due to the graphic nature and questionable plot to the game. I really enjoy this game and I give it a 4.7 out of 5 stars. I give this rating because of the inconsistency of the game... What I mean by this is at times in the game, you have to lead an individual running and at other times during the same game, you have to shoot behind the running person to hit them. There are times when you fire a predator missle and someone will hide underneath a pair of 2x6 pieces of wood and it protects them but other times, a person can be inside a fortified building and the predator missle will hit the roof and kill the person... It gets very annoying. However, all in all, it is a great game with lots of action, customization, and it is time consuming. Enjoy!
