Microsft ZuneHD to Rival Apple iPod Touch
Combating Apple Computer's iPod Touch, Microsoft has unveiled its newest in the line of the Zune, the Zune HD which comes in 16GB and 32GB versions. This newest style in the Microsoft Zune series offers a 3.3 inch brilliant OLED display along with an HD Radio tuner, long battery life, movie rentals, and subscription integrations that will finally give iPod expariates something to shout about. This player also plays HD video and it's subscription service is only $15 per month and offers unlimited Zune Downloads. Still, as with other Microsoft Zunes, you cannot use this Zune with the Apple Mac; Marketplace purchases require "Microsoft Points," video format support is limited, audio quality lacks advanced controls, a separate dock accessory will need to be purchased for HD vidoe output, application and game selection is limited, and the recommended music subscription plan can possibly cause the real-world cost to be higher than the iPod. All in all, the Zune HD will deliever one of the best portable music and video experiences for the money but at a time when people have shifted their focus to games and applications, Microsoft's idea to provide a killer media experience may not be enough for Zune buyers. Everything said, I still give the Zune HD a 4.4 out of 5 stars.
Price: $218 (16GB) - $289 (32GB)
