Hubpages & Revenue

Is it really possible to make money by writing small articles online? Is it really possible to fully quit your job and write only on Hubpages? These are the infamous questions that I see asked all the time. From my personal experiences with both Hubpages and Google Adsense, I myself, probably couldn't quit my day job. However, I see many success stories and I believe that those success stories are true; there is so much a person can do if they put their mind to doing the thing they want to accomplish most.

When I first decided to see if I could make a little money online, I went on Google and searched for "make money online." I don't remember how many hits came back, but I am sure there were a lot. I do know however, that Google Adsense was one of the search results. Well, I had been supporting Google since about 1999 after realizing that it was going to be the next big search engine. I had been using Dogpile because of its concept of gathering it's index from all the other search engines which meant less work for them, making it quicker and more results for us; I was a junior in high school.

I continued to check out reviews on Google and was skeptical as I am with almost everything new that I think about doing. I attempted to sign up for Adsense but was rejected because of the websites I was trying to use already being partners with Google and therefore, I couldn't place Google ads on their websites. I had decided that I would not pay to purchase a website domain or any hosting service, so, Google Adsense was dead to me and I just figured I continue living my life on my Army salary.

Now, here it is almost 7 months after I initially attempted to sign up for Google Adsense and I have finally gotten my account approved to use here on http://hubpages.com/profile/whcobb and my other websites http://whcobb.weebly.com and http://gr8cobboutlets.weebly.com. I have created these 2 websites with my first one being a "trial run" at internet marketing and advertising and my other one actually targeting specific products and discounts online.

My first website, http://whcobb.weebly.com is nothing more than a website with Google Ads and information about me, my career, and my family to name a few. The site has pictures of me and my family and will continue to get more. It also has various pages relating to various aspects of my life and career as well as things I like and a blog. Please visit it if you just want some leisurly reading.

My second website, http://gr8cobboutlets.weebly.com is a website dedicated to the best deals online. The purpose of this site is for me to go out and find products that people are looking for at discount prices. I will search and find the best deals possible and have links to those sites offering the best deals, hence the name of the site being, "GR8 Cobb Outlet Store." It's a long story in the name but if you want to know the story, just ask.

Along with Hubpages, I have a couple other blog sites I use such as Blogger where I have http://gr8cobb.blogspot.com which is nothing more than an extension blog to my outlet website and http://williamcobb.blogspot.com which is a daily inspirational blog. I use Xomba to create links and backlinks to various sites and my sites as well. On my two webpages, I also use Infolinks which is actually proving to be a decent money maker.

MAKING MONEY
Now... I have yet to receive a check for any money made but that's because I have yet to make too much money. I have actually had sites up for about a week now and my Google Adsense earnings is showing I have $11.49 which I think is a good start for my first week. Infolinks is currently showing $3.58, so, I have made just over $15.00 in my first week of blogging and website publications with Google Adsense and Infolinks.

A main problem I think I will have, as do many people new to this, is the fact that I expect to see more results faster than I should be seeing them. When you read success stories, you have to realize that those folks' success didn't come over night... It took months and years. So, to avoid that letdown, you must set short term, mid term, and long term goals.

Short Term: Get both websites up and running and start up at least 10-15 blogs/hubs.
Mid Term: Complete 30-40 blogs/hubs & continue adding content to websites
Long Term: Complete 100 blogs/hubs, get eBay working & Amazon. Make that first $1,000

Short Term goals should be accomplished in 1-3 months.
Mid Term goals should be accomplished in 3-9 months.
Long Term goals should be accomplished in 9 months and beyond.

In closing, when asked the question about being able to make money online here at hubpages, my answer is, "Yes you can. Others have done and continue to do it... Just keep plugging and hubbing away. Don't give up." Adjust your writings about what you know best. Keep your content precise and do research about what people are wanting to see and do. Keep motivated and stay the course... Hubpages along with Google Adsense, Amazon, eBay, and Kontera will pay off eventually, although, I don't think Kontera is working on my sites.

Cool hub article WH, I feel similarly about making money here. It's been a few months and I've just reached over $25. Ebay won't allow me anymore because I don't own my own website and I do have Amazon but they haven't done much, I think in almost three monthes it comes in around $2.50 so there's that. Anyway, like you said, it takes time. I seem to see more clicks as the weeks go on. I also have to learn to backlink more.

This is a very encouraging hub. I am not trying as hard as I can to earn money with hubpages, but I think that I'll pick up the pace, especially after reading your hub. Very good hub, I'll go over and take a look at your website.

Interaction with other hubbers is what gets you your money... I notice that when I add a hub and then follow people, I make money easier... If I just let my hubs go without doing much in the area of scouting others and following them while leaving comments, the income output is much slower and smaller... Just keep that in mind when you are looking at making money guys.

This hub gives me hope! Thanks for sharing this here at hubpages.

By the way, congratulations for being able to get good traffic immediately after setting up your blogs. For a blog to get $11 or more after a week is somewhat extraordinary as far as I'm concerned. Like me, for instance, I got that amount a year after I set up my blogs. Can you write another hub on the factors that attracted traffic to your hub and the much awaited clicks, of course.

Thanks for joining my fans club!
